Liam Grimes
Liam is a high-impact Senior Leader and Social Entrepreneur with over two decades of experience navigating the complexities of the SME and Corporate sectors. Specialising in the intersection of strategic governance and operational excellence, Liam has spent his career scaling global teams and building robust organisational infrastructures from the ground up.
As a former Head of People and Global Operations Manager, Liam possesses a sophisticated understanding of human capital and international logistics. He has successfully bridged the gap between high-level HR strategy and the granular delivery of complex services, a skillset that has been instrumental in the rapid launch and scaling of The Community Table CIC.
Driven by lived experience and a commitment to coastal regeneration, Liam has pioneered a "dignity-first" social supermarket model that has achieved unprecedented local engagement, securing over 300 members within its first two weeks of operation. His academic background is equally diverse, holding Level 4 qualifications in Business Administration and Post-16 Teaching, alongside specialist certifications in Vocational Achievement and Advice & Guidance.
As a qualified Mental Health First Aider and Safeguarding Lead, Liam ensures that the organisation’s growth is underpinned by rigorous professional accountability and a person-centered approach. For Liam, The Community Table is more than a food security project; it is a scalable blueprint for community resilience, combining commercial discipline with a profound mission to revitalise Lincolnshire’s coastal economy.
Founder & CEO
Barrie Pierpoint
Barrie is a seasoned business leader and strategic consultant with a career defined by high-level commercial transformation and community engagement. Best known for his tenure as the first high profile Plc Group Chief Executive of Leicester City Football Club, Barrie pioneered the modern multi-functional stadium model, bridging the gap between professional sports and local community impact. Since then, he has provided executive leadership and senior management board-level consultancy across the sports, leisure, and business sectors, specialising in turnarounds, brand development, and sustainable growth.
He his currently The Managing Partner of his Business and Management Consultancy and a Non Executive Director of several businesses who are clients. He previously was a Non Executive Director of an NHS Hospital Trust and a local commercial radio station. He has also been Chair of several Charities and Community Interest Companies.
As Chair of The Community Table CIC, Barrie brings decades of experience in governance and commercial strategy to ensure the organisation is built on a foundation of long-term viability. A passionate advocate for the next generation, he has spent some of his career coaching and mentoring young College and University graduates, helping them navigate professional pathways and build personal resilience. For Barrie, The Community Table represents a vital shift toward sustainable social enterprise, combining his business acumen with a lifelong commitment to fostering community pride and economic opportunity in Lincolnshire.

Non-executive Director - Information & SecurityJoseph McPherson
Joseph brings a unique perspective from his time in the British Army, working within the realms of Electronic Warfare & Signals Intelligence. Since then, he's built expertise in information security and technology leadership across fast-growing businesses, leading teams through major transformation and scaling challenges within the Defence, Finance, Transport and Legal technology sectors.
In his role as NED for Information & Security, Joseph provides independent oversight to ensure The Community Table operates safely and compliantly, protecting both our community members and The Community Table as it grows.
For Joseph, supporting organisations that tackle social isolation and economic deprivation is a natural extension of the service mindset that shaped his early career. He brings that same commitment to excellence and care to his role at The Community Table.
Samuel Wheeler
Non-executive Director - Resilience & Social ImpactSam is a resilience and cyber security leader with a background spanning the British Army and senior roles within UK government and critical national infrastructure. His career has been shaped by operating in high pressure environments where clear decision making, strong leadership, and the ability to respond to disruption are critical.
He began his career in the British Army as an Electronic Warfare Systems Operator, working within intelligence led operations and alongside international partners. This experience built the foundations of his approach to resilience, understanding how organisations prepare for uncertainty, respond to fast moving situations, and maintain continuity under pressure.
Sam has since built a career in cyber security, now leading Security Operations within a major UK public sector organisation maintaining his passion for serving the British people. He specialises in incident response, threat management, and organisational readiness, ensuring that services can withstand and recover from cyber incidents and other disruptive events. His work focuses not just on prevention, but on building robust response and recovery capabilities that protect both operations and the people who rely on them.
He brings a practical, real world approach to business continuity and disaster recovery helping organisations move beyond plans on paper to embedded, tested, and effective resilience. His experience includes leading major incident frameworks, running crisis simulations, and supporting senior leaders to make informed decisions during high impact scenarios.
At The Community Table CIC, Samuel supports the organisation in strengthening its operational resilience and long-term sustainability. He is particularly passionate about ensuring that community-led initiatives are not only impactful today, but are built to endure, adapt, and continue supporting those who need them most. Particularly in supporting young people to build confidence, resilience, and pathways into future careers. He is committed to using his experience to mentor, guide, and create opportunities for the next generation, especially those who may not traditionally have access to them.
