Frequently Asked Questions - Membership

  • By joining The Community Table CIC, you are becoming part of a community-led initiative to reduce food waste and lower the cost of living in Mablethorpe.

Your £5 annual fee goes directly toward the overheads of the shop and keeping our 'Points' prices as low as possible.

Your Membership grants access to the shop but does not guarantee a specific quantity or type of goods.

  • Members can choose their shop level each time they visit. There is no contract; you simply pay for the tier you need that day:

    • Essential: 10 Points for £5.00

    • Family: 22 Points for £10.00

    • Full Pantry: 30 Points for £15.00

Most items will be 1 point, but look out for stickers on items worth 2 points or more.

  • By agreeing to proceed with a membership, you agree to the following:

    1. Stock Availability: I understand that The Community Table sources surplus and rescued food. While the team works hard to keep shelves full, stock is not guaranteed. The CIC is not liable for any specific items being unavailable, nor for temporary shop closures due to logistics or staffing.

    2. No Refunds on Membership: The annual fee is a non-refundable contribution to the CIC’s mission. It grants access to the shop but does not guarantee a specific quantity or type of goods.

    3. Dignity & Respect: I agree to treat staff, volunteers, and fellow members with respect. The CIC reserves the right to cancel membership and refuse access if a member’s behavior is disruptive or abusive.

    4. Personal Use Only: I confirm that food purchased is for my household’s use and will not be resold.

    5. Allergens: I understand that as The CIC stocks surplus goods, I am responsible for checking labels for allergen information at the point of purchase.
