By agreeing to proceed with a membership, you agree to the following:
Stock Availability: I understand that The Community Table sources surplus and rescued food. While the team works hard to keep shelves full, stock is not guaranteed. The CIC is not liable for any specific items being unavailable, nor for temporary shop closures due to logistics or staffing.
No Refunds on Membership: The annual fee is a non-refundable contribution to the CIC’s mission. It grants access to the shop but does not guarantee a specific quantity or type of goods.
Dignity & Respect: I agree to treat staff, volunteers, and fellow members with respect. The CIC reserves the right to cancel membership and refuse access if a member’s behavior is disruptive or abusive.
Personal Use Only: I confirm that food purchased is for my household’s use and will not be resold.
Allergens: I understand that as The CIC stocks surplus goods, I am responsible for checking labels for allergen information at the point of purchase.

This is our most frequently asked question, and the answer is simple: The Community Table is for everyone in our community.
Our model is different from a traditional food bank. We are a Social Supermarket built on the principle of social trading. When you shop with us, you aren't "taking" a handout; you are actively supporting a self-sustaining engine for social good.
Here is why your membership matters, regardless of your background:
You are preventing waste: Much of our stock is surplus food rescued from being sent to landfill. By eating this food, you are helping the environment.
You are funding the mission: Your membership fee and the "points" you spend are reinvested through our Asset Lock. This revenue pays our rent, keeps the lights on, and funds our future.
You help us reach everyone: Our current members include retired residents, local workers, parents, and people living with disabilities. By having a diverse membership, we remove the stigma of "charity."
Whether you are a struggling family, a pensioner on a fixed income, or a working professional who hates food waste—you are welcome here. By shopping at The Community Table, you aren't taking away from Mablethorpe; you are helping Mablethorpe thrive.
